Revert Splinter Weapon in PvE
Remember many, many months ago when ANet changed Splinter Weapon to have a scale to how many enemies it would hit? I believe the reason was because it was being abused at the flag stand in GvG. The PvP/PvE skill split took place a few months later I believe, but this was never addressed.
I'd like that clause removed from the PvE skill.

This hole cry and cry about a skill until its changed to how you specifically wish it, is getting really lame.
Everyone needs to suck it up about nerfs.....

Actually, I might add to this, IN the last few months i managed to get a hold of regina to address that issue,
She said,
"Our developers are busy working on Gws2, Although we would like to split many of the pvp skills for pve, we're just too busy right now"
She would pass on any suggestions to the team, so dont your hopes up...They are a busy people, they make games, that is their business, They are a small team and they strive to make it worth it.
So pretty much just wait and see, if gws2 becomes a hit, they'll possibly come back to gws1 and modify most of the skill trees again.
Wait and find out.

I honestly don't remember splinter being even stronger than it is now.
But, it's PvE, who cares.

Just make this skill instead:
Skill, for 5 seconds, all enemies within compass range take 1000 dmg each second.

It was actually a pretty sickeningly strong skill in PVE. As stated, it was nerfed, but I do think it was for PVE as well, but im not sure. Also, Scar Ra, did he do any crying? Sounds like anyone who is against any requests seems to categorize it as such lately.

Splinter Weapon originally hit all adjacent, it stayed that way for a VERY long time, nobody complained. But then it got abused in PvP and nerf follwed.
Would be great to have the R/Rt or Rt/R margonite farm back... and Wardens, froggies etc with splinter weapon would get a boost. They could actually be dangerous in HM, instead of just tickling your minions.
All the knee-jerk "QQ", "OMG revert everything that ever got nerfed", "Regardless of what this thread is about, I must use it to say something about SF"... it's all getting really old. If you have a genuine reason that you think its a bad idea, then fine - EXPLAIN WHY instead of making meaningless knuckle-dragging reflex posts that just make you look dumb.

Nerfs buffs and general changes to a game are on the whole good.
They refresh the game and make us all think about builds and strategies.
Making such changes on a global scale because of player overuse or misuse in one area of a game is just plain stupid and complicates the game elsewhere.
With so many skills every change makes as many problems as it cures so changes should be made sparingly.
The other side of it is that there are thousands of players trying to outsmart a few programmers.
Within minutes of a skill rebalance these thousands of players begin working on a way around it.
Its not exactly rocket science to discover that on the whole the players will always win out and the programmers have to begin again.
Many if not most of the changes work well in pve and I like the challenge but I still think there must be a better way of handling pvp rebalances.

I must say, the previous Splinter was awesome, you'd shred through mobs like a hot knife through butter... but I think it is pretty well balanced right now, as it is. You can still shred, just not all the time, but it is more than enough for PvE.

It might have been nerfed for GvG, but it was a bit overpowered for PvE too. It's still +250 dmg to adjacent foes, and that's good enough.

Most of you don't seem to know, or forgot, but Splinter used to be a crappy skill and was buffed a long time ago.
Regarding its synergy with barrage for example, here are 2 topics I necroed:
1) its original effect (read a little further than the first post that is definitely wrong): http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...20#post2225220 (some comments are quite funny 3 years later by the way...)
2) when the buff occured: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10107580
Beside that, I don't think this skill needs another buff, so /not signed.
